Ayahuasca is an Amazonian indigenous brew, traditionally used for shamanic, spiritual and healing purposes. This entheogenic* tea, also known as ‘Vine of the Soul’ is used largely as a religious sacrament. For many indigenous people of the Amazon, ayahuasca is integral to ritual practices, myths, cosmologies, art, music, and other cultural aspects of their life.

Shamanic context

From this shamanistic context arose several religious traditions in Brasil, like the União do Vegetal, the Barquinha and the Santo Daime. The most well- known and widest spread is the Santo Daime, a mixture between shamanism, Christianity, Spiritism and Umbanda, an Afro-Brazilian religion with strong African roots.

The Netherlands
All over the world, the use of ayahuasca is growing very fast and in the last 15 years, thousands of people in Holland took ayahuasca or Daime** for the first time in their life. And almost every week there is the opportunity to drink this magical tea from the Amazon somewhere in our country.
